Smallville Season 10 – Michael Rosenbaum Is Not Returning

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

The CW network has announced that it will bring Smallvilleback for a 10th season, but unfortunately Lex Luthor is not coming along for the ride.

The long-running reboot of the Superman story, starring Tom Welling as Clark Kent and Erica Durance as Lois Lane, has enjoyed a ratings revival after being moved to Friday nights in the fall and will stretch it’s run into season ten with an unexpected rush of momentum. Smallville is currently the CW’s best performing show for male audiences and has dramatically improved their Friday night ratings.

Rumors were flying that Michael Rosenbaum would also return to the series and reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent’s greatest enemy Lex Luthor, but Rosenbaum has sadly debunked that report through Twitter.

Smallville revolves around the adventures of Clark Kent, a reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper and also a hero currently called The Blur, as he journeys from small town Kansas farm boy to Metropolis superhero. Clark Kent’s allies include the Green Arrow, who is played by Justin Hartley, and his enemies include the villainous Zod played by Callum Blue.

The current cast of Smallville also includes Allison Mack, whose Chloe Sullivan was created just for Smallville and was not originally a DC comic character. Allison Mack is the only series regular from Smallville season one still on the show besides Welling. This season Chloe’s role as Watchtower for the Justice League has given her a place in the traditional Superman mythos for the first time.

During the current season it’s been revealed that Lex Luthor is still alive and was not killed by the Green Arrow as previously thought. Michael Rosenbaum played Lex through season seven and fans had hoped he would make a return.

Smallville premiered on the CW back in 2001. Tom Welling has now portrayed Clark Kent longer than any other actor, except Christopher Reeve who played him over a long span in the Superman movies.

Smallville was developed for television by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar based on the popular DC Comics characters. Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson serve as the current executive producers.

IPhone 4 Cases: A Consumer’s Guide

Monday, August 16th, 2010

With the advent of the iPhone 4, Mac has (yet again) revolutionized how we use technology. Gone are the days of clunky cellular phones. In their place are the sleek, new mobile phones. Now, the competition is among the carriers for a better, faster, stronger phone.

Most of the modern cell phones come equipped with a camera, internet access, music, etc. The iPhone 4 makes all of those better. Instead of a stylus, it has a touch screen. But, it only comes in black.

If you’re a pro-Mac user, you may want to check out the cases offered from Mac stores. The first is the iSkin revo-designed with your iPhone 4 in mind! It comes in blue/black and red/black. According the Apple.com Store, this case is highly durable and protects all “vulnerable” parts of your iPhone 4 (including ports). Included with the case are two “privacy screens,” which are static cling pieces that go over the touch-screen of the iPhone 4.

They’re tinted so that if you are not looking at your iPhone 4 directly, what is seen is tinted darkly to black. There is also a cover that can snap into place over the screen when it’s not in use. This little number will run you $39.95. According to two reviews, it does exactly what it says: protects the phone. It does, however, have a few design flaws. If you’re willing to put up with having to charge your phone every night, then this may be the case for you.

But, let’s not be too hasty!

Also from the Mac Store-Incase! It’s a sleek, soft cover that comes in magenta, black, cyan, slate, chocolate, and yellow. It fits over the phone, leaving the screen area completely visible. It, too, has a protective film for over the front. It does exactly as it says-protects the phone from falls and accidents.

However, according to several consumers, it scratches the chrome of the phone if dust or lint get into it. It also needs to be removed before trying to fit the iPhone 4 into the docking station. This iPhone 4 case runs $29.95. If you’re looking to protect the phone and never ever go without a case, then the scratching of the chrome may not bother you.
