The Greek god Tantalus was not a nice guy.
My daughter told me about a bad Greek dude named Tantalus. He did some bad things (not the least of which was killing and eating his son) and then trying to make amends to the gods for his wrongdoings.
As punishment, the other gods sentenced him to standing in a pool of water up to his shoulders with a fruit tree over head.
When he tried to get fruit, the branch of the tree would lift away from him. When he tried to drink from the pool, the water receded before he could get any. There was also a stone precariously balanced over his head.
Tantalus is the root of the word tantalize, meaning experiencing temptation without possibility of satisfaction.
Are you tantalized by network marketing?
Are you always striving for MLM success only to find that it eludes you? Are you thirsty for financial freedom, but still broke? Is the weight of debt weighing heavily on your shoulders?
Why aren’t you succeeding in network marketing? What’s missing? Do you need a better comp plan? Better training? A product you can be proud of?
The truth is…those things are of secondary importance. They’re important of course. You’ll never be happy with yourself if you feel like you’re ripping people off with a crummy product.
More than anything else, you need to have a system. You need a track to run on. You need to know that you’ll be able to arrive…if you just follow the proven steps.
Without a system, you’ll have to reinvent the wheel. Few of us are that creative or dedicated. The beauty of network marketing is that you don’t HAVE to invent a business model. All you have to do is implement one that’s already proven to work.
Without the will to make it happen, all you have is a wish. My mother told me long ago that, “If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride”.
Do you have what it takes to succeed–courage and the will to ACT? Are you willing to get off your butt and take massive action, or are you content to just keep your fingers crossed?
If you’re considering joining a network marketing company. look at the company literature. what kind of step-by-step training do they offer? How skilled and supportive is your sponsor? You really need clear answers to these questions. You’re going into a business to be able to enjoy life with your loved ones. Choosing well in the beginning of your career is of paramount importance.
Tantalus would be jealous of you. You’re not limited like he was. If you’re with a legitimate company, you really CAN succeed…if you keep putting one foot in front of the other, following the system.
Reach a little higher in your goals. Bend a little lower to help those who need your help. Soon, you’ll stop fearing the rock of doom and insecurity and you’ll start to live the life you always knew you should.
