Thanks Fin! This footage was shot while on holiday in Amsterdam, Netherlands in March 2008. This is a brief tour around the Top Floor of the Old Nickel Hotel in Amsterdam. Starting in Room 14 and moving out into the hallway, this video gives you a glimpse at the toilet and shower which are shared by the 3 rooms located on the top floor. Inside our room you’ll see the beds, TV, sink and the view of Centraal Station from the window. Out in the hallway, you’ll see where the toilet and shower are located, the doors to the other 2 rooms on that floor as well as the stairs which lead down to the restaurant and lobby. The Old Nickel is a small family owned hotel. It is located in the center of old Amsterdam and is only a 2 minute walk from Centraal Station. International travelers from around the world meet at the Old Nickel

I love my Everio

@Lomald Yes, that room is tiny. I wish they had rwmoved the closet and added a table. It was still a nice, clean place to stay. Thanks for viewing and for your comment.

  2. Lomald says:

LOL, I returned from Amsterdam yesterday.. we’ve been to the same hotel and even to the same room! I liked the bar very much (the cat^^), but the room is the definition of “tiny” :-D Well.. I enjoyed the trip and the hotel was okay ;)

  3. dra999 says:

Yes! I believe you will. Good luck and best wishes.

Kind of reminds me of the many “shoe box” motel rooms I stayed in while in S.E. Asia! But they were all great. I’m gettin that ‘ol travelin’ jones again. thanx for posting, great vid!

  7. dra999 says:

Thank you for your kind review. I appreciate your loyalty. This was my first time to stay at the Old Nickel but it was quite enjoyable. They include a complimentary breakfast every morning you stay at the hotel. Thanks again for viewing.

  8. PismoBeach says:

Quite a contrast between that classic old room and its modern flat screen TV.

    Well done, DRA.
    Nice pacing, atmosphere & scoring.

  9. dra999 says:

Yes, the proximity to Centraal Station is awesome. lugging bags for 2 blocks sounds easy… but then we had to lug them up 4 flights of stairs! Thanks for viewing.

  10. seussie says:

yeah, rooms a lil cramped, but no big deal when yer travelin on a budget. location can’t be beat, imo! lug the bags what, 2 blocks? that rocks! hehe

    Good vid.

  13. dra999 says:

Yes, we smoked in the hotel room, but we liked hanging out at the bar at the Greenhouse Effect because it’s a very special place. Additionally, we were not allowed to smoke in the bar and restaurant at The Old Nickel. The coffeeshop Funny People is just down the street but the people who run the place are not funny at all, so I avoid it these days. Don’t rule out a trip to Europe, you’ll get there eventually.

  14. oscuroaa says:

Looks like a nice place. Would be a useful review if I was to go to Amsterdam, yknow? Im not tho ;) . You allowed to smoke ganj in hotelroom?

  15. dra999 says:

It’s awesome everytime I go to Europe. I liked the Old Nickel even though the room was small and up 4 flights of stairs. They had a nice breakfast which was complimentary for guests staying at the hotel. Thanks for viewing.

  16. sueishere25 says:

That must have been an awesome trip!

  17. dra999 says:

It’s a cool place to stay while visiting Amsterdam. If I can’t get in at the GHE, this would be my 1st alternate choice.

  18. MerrieMcBeth says:

    I wanna go there!

  33. bogmann says:

The gz-hd3u has been nothing but trouble…. tod. file conversion?? what a pain…HD errors, slow start up, and of course data loss, even with recovery software. Should have stuck with Canon or Sony. Piece of Crap camera!!!

  34. bmx10rider25 says:

i need a camera with good or faire quality that can shoot in low light conditions. we mostly film bmx stuff and a lot is filmed at the indoor skate park thats low lit. does any one recomend this camera for what i need it for???

  40. mathieuvp1 says:

what is the serie number of that camcorder I mean like GZ-HD30EX or something?

    grtz

  41. djlobb says:

you don’t need any extra software, you just change the extension (MOV1100.TOD to MOV1100.MPG for example) and thats it

  42. SaundersKira says:

Rename the file format from .MOD to .MPG

then it works. I know it’s weird but it works.

  43. eliu34 says:
